Hickory, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs scored eight of the final 10 points of the contest Wednesday night, picking up a thrilling 71-68 victory at Lenoir-Rhyne University in South Atlantic Conference women's basketball action. Wingate improves to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the SAC, while the Bears fall to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in league play.

FIRST QUARTER

- Emily Harman's layup gave LR a 10-2 lead five minutes in
- A Sullivan three pulled the 'Dogs within three at the 4:36 mark
- A Clark triple and AJ Davis layup made it a two point game with three minutes left
- Alyssa Wagner hit a three with 11 seconds left to give the Bears a 20-13 lead

SECOND QUARTER

- Wingate scored the first seven of the second quarter, getting five Troutman points to tie it at 20
- Brandi Hudson capped a 6-0 LR run that put the Bears on top 26-20 with 4:28 to go
- Troutman's layup pulled the 'Dogs back within three at the 2:34 mark
- LR led by six with a minute left, but a Brandon triple made it 31-28 at halftime

THIRD QUARTER

- Hudson's layup gave the Bears a 40-32 advantage four minutes into the second half
- Wilson's layup pulled the 'Dogs within five, but a Maddie Dillinger layup made it 42-35 with three minutes left
- Wingate scored the last seven points of the quarter to tie it
- Mikayla Dyson started it with a triple; Wilson's layup in the final seconds tied it at 40

FOURTH QUARTER

- Wilson buried a triple two minutes in to give the Bulldogs a 47-44 lead
- Hudson's three-point play tied it with five minutes left
- Brandon knocked down a three to give WU a 54-52 lead at the 2:12 mark
- Hudson's layup tied it, but Troutman's layup put the 'Dogs up by two with 1:09 left
- Dillinger banked in a three with 52 seconds left to give Lenoir-Rhyne a one-point lead
- Troutman tied it with a free throw
- The 'Dogs had a chance for the win in the final seconds, but a Sullivan triple rimmed out

OVERTIME

- Two Troutman buckets helped Wingate take a 63-60 lead two minutes into overtime
- LR scored the next six, taking a three-point lead on a Harman layup with 1:18 left
- Brandon answered with a huge three to tie it with a  minute to go
- A Troutman layup and free throw put WU on top 69-66 with seven seconds to go
- Harman's free throws with four seconds to go made it a one-point game
- Clark's two free throws with two seconds left pushed the lead back to three
- A MaeOla Willis steal in the final second secured the victory
