Jefferson City, Tenn.----The Wingate University Bulldogs went on the road Saturday afternoon and picked up a huge victory, taking down #19 Carson-Newman University 81-76 in South Atlantic Conference women's basketball action. Wingate improves to 5-1 overall and 4-0 in the SAC, while the Eagles fall to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in league play.

SECOND QUARTER
- Braelyn Wykle's three gave CN a 23-15 lead two minutes into the second
- A Skylar Boshears three-point play pushed the lead to nine with six minutes left
- Layups from Troutman and Sullivan trimmed the lead to five at the 4:41 mark
- Troutman's three-point play and AJ Davis's layup made it a two-point game at 30-28
- Sullivan's three with two minutes left gave the Bulldogs a 33-32 advantage
- Two Sullivan free throws pushed the lead to three
- Addison Byrd's bucket with eight seconds left made it 35-34 heading to halftime
THIRD QUARTER
- A Sullivan triple and Brandon layup put Wingate on top 42-36 less than two minutes in

- Wingate answered with a huge 9-0 run to take a 64-59 advantage
- Troutman started the spurt with back-to-back buckets, with a Sullivan three putting WU on top
- Penland's triple cut the lead to two at the 4:22 mark, but Sullivan answered with a three to make it 67-62
- A layup and five free throws from Wilson gave the 'Dogs a 74-65 lead with three minutes left
- Carson-Newman went on a 9-0 run, tying it at 76 on a Rutherford bucket with 1:12 to go
- Brandon knocked down a pair of free throws with 41 seconds left to put the Bulldogs back on top
- Troutman's free throw with 13 seconds left made it 79-76
- Sullivan blocked a Wykle three-point attempt with six seconds left, with Wilson grabbing the rebound
- Wilson knocked down a pair of free throws to ice it
