No. 4 Queens earns dual meet triumph over No. 2 Wingate Saturday

Charlotte, N.C.----The Queens University of Charlotte women's swimming team earned a 168-77 triumph over visiting Wingate University at the Levine Center Saturday. The Royals are the No. 4 team in the CSCAA NCAA Division II top 25 poll, while the Bulldogs occupy the No. 2 spot.
 
Wingate women's notes
 
- Senior Anna Miram won the 100 Backstroke with her gold-medal time of 58.06
- Miram earned a silver medal in the 200 Backstroke, thanks to her time of 2:05.34
- Junior Lily Sanocki won the 200 Breaststroke with her triumphant time of 2:21.87
- Sanocki picked up points in the 200 IM (fourth, 2:11.83) and the 100 Breaststroke (fifth, 1:07.06)
- Junior Grace Williams was second in the 200 IM with her time of 2:10.04
- Williams was followed closely by graduate student Anne-Sofie Nissen, who posted a 200 IM time of 2:10.77
- Nissen earned bronze medals in the 200 IM and the 200 Breaststroke (2:22.25)
- Freshman Kelsea Munro was second in the 50 Free (23.99) and third in the 100 Free (52.55)
- Sophomore Amanda Wenhold was second in the 100 Breaststroke (1:06.12)
- Classmate Amanda Cesario was third in the 200 Butterfly (2:08.96)
- Senior Kate Agger was third in the 1000 Free (10:34.84) and fourth in the 500 Free (5:13.17)
 
Next on the agenda
 
The Wingate women's swimming team will start fall semester final examinations on Monday. The Bulldogs return to the pool Saturday, Jan. 8, when they visit NCAA Division I Gardner-Webb.
