Wingate, N.C.----The Catawba College Indians used an 8-0 run late in the second half to pick up an 84-78 victory at Wingate University in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action in Cuddy Arena. Catawba improves to 8-10 overall and 8-10 in the SAC, while the Bulldogs fall to 10-8 overall and 10-8 in league play.

FIRST HALF
- DJ Johnson's layup gave Catawba an 11-7 lead four minutes in
- Marcus Burwell's triple extended the lead to five
- Sio's layup with 13 minutes left pulled WU within three at 16-13
- The Indians went on a 13-0 run, taking a 30-15 lead on Caleb Robinson's layup with 7:51 left
- A Sio triple and Taylor layup pulled Wingate back within 10
- Cottingham buried a three with five minutes left to make it 32-27
- A Cottingham layup and Wilson triple made it a two-point game with two minutes to go
- Catawba scored the last six of the half, taking a 43-35 lead on two Burwell free throws with 26 seconds left
SECOND HALF
- A Priest three-point play and Cottingham three made it a one-point game less than three minutes in
- Sio knocked down a triple at the 16:26 mark to tie it at 47
- Burwell's jumper put the Indians back on top by four, but layups from Sio and Cottingham made it a one-point game
- Taylor's layup and Priest's triple put WU on top 57-53 at the 12:33 mark
- A Terrence Whitfield three and Dre Nelson triple gave Catawba a 67-63 lead with 6:38 left
- Cottingham answered with a three, while his layup with 4:57 to go tied it at 69
- The Indians scored the next eight, going on top 77-69 on two Burwell free throws with 2:16 to go
- Four Cottingham free throws got the 'Dogs back within four with 1:30 left
- Traylynn Spencer hit a three with 1:13 remaining to push the lead back to seven for Catawba
- Tucker's three cut the lead back to four, but free throws from Burwell made it 82-76 with 40 seconds left
- Wingate got no closer than five the rest of the way
