Hickory, N.C.----The 13th-ranked Wingate University rolled to an impressive 7-0 league road win Tuesday afternoon, sweeping past Lenoir-Rhyne University in South Atlantic Conference women's tennis action. Wingate improves to 8-1 overall and 6-0 in the SAC, while the Bears fall to 6-3 overall and 5-3 in league play.

DOUBLES

- Elena Bompieri and Elena Gunfaus picked up a 7-5 win at one doubles
- Jessica Ruetten and Camilla Ciaccia won 6-4 at two doubles
- Georgina Wood and Flaminia Guidantoni prevailed 6-4 at three doubles
- Wingate took a 1-0 lead into singles play

SINGLES

- Bompieri won 7-6, 6-4 at number one singles
- Ciaccia won the first set 6-2 at one singles and was up 4-1 in the second when her opponent retired
- Gunfaus rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 win at three singles
- Wood picked up a 6-4, 6-2 victory at four singles
- Guidantoni won 6-3, 6-3 at five singles
- Riann Hsu capped the day with an 8-1 victory at six singles
