Bulldogs roll to 8-2 victory over #8 Mount Olive

Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs picked up an impressive non-conference victory Wednesday afternoon, rolling to an 8-2 victory over the eighth-ranked University of Mount Olive Trojans in NCAA Division II baseball action at Ron Christopher Stadium and Plyler Athletic Field. Wingate improves to 14-7 overall, while the Trojans fall to 15-6 on the season.

- The Bulldogs took a six-run lead when Dansky connected on a solo shot to right

- Hunter Dula drew a walk, then stole second
- Dansky's RBI single plated Dula to make it 7-0

SIXTH INNING

- A Joe Mason RBI single got the Trojans on the board
- Motsinger was hit by a pitch, then moved to second on a wild pitch and third on a groundout
- He scored on another wild pitch to make it 8-1

NINTH INNING

- A Vito Patierno solo shot in the ninth made the final margin 8-2

WRAPUP

- McCullough got the win, moving to 3-1 on the year
- He allowed just one hit in five shutout innings, striking out five and walking one
- Caleb Bishop took the loss, allowing five runs on three hits in 2 1/3 innings
