Vodovnik leads #8 Wingate to 21-7 victory at Catawba

Salisbury, N.C.----Senior attack Adam Vodovnik piled up a career-high eight goals Wednesday night, as the eighth-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs hit the 20-goal mark for the fifth time this season, cruising a 21-7 victory at Catawba College in South Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse action. Wingate improves to 7-1 overall and 5-1 in the SAC, while the Indians fall to 4-4 overall and 3-2 in league play.

SECOND PERIOD

- Vodovnik, Padden and Riley scored in the first four minutes to make it 10-2
- Catawba scored the last three goals of the period, cutting the lead to five at halftime

THIRD PERIOD

- Wingate scored the first six goals of the frame to take a 16-5 lead
- Riley, Pierpont and Johnson scored in the first four minutes to start the flurry
- Padden scored with 7:41 left to make it 14-5
- Vodovnik scored with a minute left; Kotcamp scored six seconds later to make it 16-5

FOURTH PERIOD

- Vodovnik started the scoring in the final frame less than three minutes in
- Grieco made it 18-6, while another Vodovnik goal pushed the lead to 13 with 5:55 left
- A goal from DiLegge at the 4:37 mark made it 20-7
- Vodovnik's eighth goal of the night capped the scoring with 4:30 to go
