Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs wrapped up a 5-1 week in league play with a doubleheader split against Carson-Newman University in South Atlantic Conference softball action Saturday afternoon. Wingate won the opener 4-1, while the Eagles rallied for an 8-7 victory in game two. The Bulldogs move to 13-11 overall and 6-4 in the SAC while Carson-Newman goes to 16-8 overall and 9-7 in league play.

- Maness gave Wingate a two-run lead with an RBI single
- Reep followed with a two-run single to make it 4-0

WRAPUP

- Reep got the win, moving to 4-2 on the year
- She allowed one run on three hits in six innings, striking out seven and walking four
- Knuckles worked a perfect seventh inning to earn the save
- Lacie Rinus took the loss, allowing four runs on seven hits in six innings

- Morgen Baker-Celis got the win, allowing two runs on four hits in 5 1/3 innings, striking out 10 and walking one
- Knuckles took the loss, allowing three runs on three hits in 1 2/3 innings
