Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs scored 15 runs Wednesday afternoon, collecting their second straight doubleheader sweep in South Atlantic Conference softball action. Wingate won the opener 10-2 in six innings, while prevailing 5-4 in game two to 20-16 overall and 13-9 in the SAC. The Wolves fall to 18-13 overall and 9-11 in league play.
GAME ONE | Wingate 10 Newberry 2 (6 innings)

FOURTH INNING
- An RBI double from Tori Rose gave the Wolves a 2-1 advantage
- The 'Dogs answered with four runs in the bottom of the frame
- Stroud started the inning with a single then stole second
- She then third and scored on a Reep sacrifice fly to tie it
- Hogan followed with a no-doubt three-run blast to right center to put WU on top 5-2
FIFTH INNING
- Cashwell reached on a two-out single, then stole second
- She scored on an RBI single from Maness to put the 'Dogs on top by four
- Reep's RBI single put the Bulldogs on top 7-2
SIXTH INNING
- Wingate scored three times in the bottom of the sixth to end it
- Hogan started the frame with a solo shot to center, her second of the day and fifth of the year
- Two walks and a Polk single loaded the bases

Ragan Liles scored on Stroud's RBI groundout to make it 9-2
- Polk scored on a wild pitch to make the final margin 10-2
WRAPUP
- Reep got the win, moving to 8-3
- She allowed two runs on six hits in six innings, striking out five without a walk
- Kasey Widmyer took the loss, allowing three runs on a hit in an inning, walking three

- McLaurin ripped a lead-off single down the left field line in the bottom of the frame
- She scored when Polk reached on an error to make it a 4-2 game
FIFTH INNING
- Cashwell reached on a one-out single, then stole second
- She scored on an RBI triple from Maness, who also scored on an error on the play to tie it at four
- McLaurin followed with an absolute no-doubter to right, a solo shot to put WU on top 5-4
- The reigning SAC Player of the Week has homered in four of her last five games
WRAPUP
- Knuckles got the win, moving to 1-3
- She tossed 1 1/3 shutout innings without allowing a base runner
- Reep worked a 1-2-3 seventh with a strikeout to earn her second save of the year
- Alexandrea Sullivan took the loss, allowing five runs on seven hits in six innings, falling to 9-4
