THOUGHTS FROM SHELTON COLLIER

"With this being a seeding match as opposed to an elimination match, we decided to play our second unit for the entire match.  Our backrow and defensive players were awesome, however, we came up short with our offensive production. It was a great opportunity for us in terms of developing much-needed depth on our roster at a national championship event."

Wingate started Taylor Vandenberg at setter, Caroline Pour and Rayah Givens in the middle, Marianna Warren and Emma Ahrens on the left side and Lorna Stacherski at opposite, with Kari Bogen at libero and Taryn Pryce as the defensive specialist.

KEY STATS

- Pour led the Bulldogs with nine kills
- Warren added eight kills for the Bulldogs
- Stacherski registered seven kills on the night
- Warren led the 8 kills Lorna 7 kills pour 9 kills .

MATCH TWO | Harding 3 Wingate 2 (22-25, 15-25, 25-23, 25-20, 15-13)

THOUGHTS FROM SHELTON COLLIER

"Harding is truly one of the best teams in the country, so this was a really challenging match for us. As for tonight, we worked really hard and played the highest level volleyball we played all season. As for our overall experience here at this national championship event, it was incredible for our team and players in so many ways. Certainly beating the number three ranked team was special for us. Playing in such an amazing match and coming up two points short of being in the final four is very impressive for this group. This experience will certainly be something to build on as we look forward to our fall season."

KEY STATS

- Quin Sutphin led the Bulldogs with 19 kills
- Reese Blackley added 18 kills for the Bulldogs
- Sophie Schaff contributed 15 kills on the night
- Shannon Kasprak handed out 45assists
