9-0 five-inning win highlights Wingate’s DH split at #7 Lincoln Memorial

Harrogate, Tenn.----The Wingate University Bulldogs bounced back in a big way Saturday afternoon after dropping the opener 10-2 at #7 Lincoln Memorial University, rebounding for an emphatic 9-0 five-inning victory in game two of a South Atlantic Conference doubleheader. Wingate moves to 21-17 overall and 14-10 in the SAC, while the Railsplitters go to 34-5 overall and 20-4 in league play. Wingate is the first team to shutout LMU this season, while also snapping a 28-game home field winning streak for the Railsplitters. LMU entered the game having not been held to zero or one runs this year, scoring less than three runs just one time all season before running into the Bulldogs.

- Emma Frost got the win, moving to 16-2, allowing two runs on three hits in five innings, striking out three
- Aubrey Reep took the loss, allowing seven earned runs on 10 hits in 4 2/3 innings, striking out three
