Wingate, N.C.----For the ninth time in 10 years, the Wingate University Bulldogs have won the South Atlantic Conference women's tennis regular season title. Wingate swept past Catawba College 7-0 Wednesday afternoon to move to 13-1 overall and 11-0 in the SAC, while the Indians fall to 5-9 overall and 2-8 in league play. The Bulldogs are 103-2 in league play over the past decade.

DOUBLES

- Elena Gunfaus and Camilla Ciaccia rolled to a 6-0 win at one doubles
- Elena Bompieri teamed with Jessica Ruetten for a 6-2 victory at two doubles
- Arianna Ceccaroni and Georgina Wood prevailed 6-3 at three doubles
- Wingate took a 1-0 lead into singles play

SINGLES

- Bompieri led 5-0 in the first set at one doubles when her opponent retired
- Ciaccia won 6-2, 6-1 at two singles
- Gunfaus rallied for a 2-6, 6-2, 1-0 victory at three singles
- Wood picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win at four singles
- Flaminia Guidantoni prevailed 6-1, 6-1 at five singles
- Ceccaroni rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win at six singles
