Box Score Sumter, S.C.----The top-seeded Wingate University Bulldogs are onto the SAC Tournament semifinals after a 4-0 victory over eighth-seeded Lincoln Memorial University in Thursday morning's South Atlantic Conference women's tennis tournament quarterfinals. The regular season SAC champion Bulldogs improve to 14-1 overall, advancing to Friday's semifinals. The Railsplitters end their season at 6-7. Wingate is the defending SAC Tournament champion and has won five of the last 10 tourney titles to go along with nine regular season championships in that span.

DOUBLES

- Elena Bompieri teamed with Georgina Wood for a 6-3 win at two doubles
- Jessica Ruetten and Flaminia Guidantoni prevailed 6-4 at number three doubles
- Camilla Ciaccia and Elena Gunfaus were tied 5-5 at one doubles when WU clinched the point
- Wingate took a 1-0 lead into singles play

SINGLES

- Bompieri rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 victory at one singles
- Ciaccia cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win at two singles
- Guidantoni wrapped things up with a 6-2, 6-2 win at three singles
- Wood was up a set at four singles when the match was clinched
- Riann Hsu won the first set 6-0 and was late in the second set when Wingate clinched
