New Orleans, La.----Both Wingate University cross country teams are ranked no. 16 in the week three NCAA Division II national rankings, compiled by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The Bulldog men and women occupied the no. 17 spot in last week's listing.
In the Southeast Region, the Wingate women are second, trailing only the Royals from Queens. The Bulldog men are third behind Queens and Augusta. Wingate did not compete on Saturday, Sept. 25.

The Wingate men placed second in the 26-team Converse Kickoff at the Milliken Research Park on Saturday, Sept. 18. Two-time SAC Runner of the Week
Bastian Mrochen finished 10th with his 8K time of 26:02.0. All total, 272 runners completed the Converse Kickoff 8K race.
Two-time SAC Runner of the Week
Lara Orrock won the Converse Kickoff on Saturday, Sept. 18, thanks to her career-best 6K time of 21:43.3 on the Milliken Research Park layout. Orrock won by nine seconds, defeating a field of 208 runners. On the team charts, Wingate finished fourth in the 23-school field.

On Saturday, Wingate competes in the pre-national meet. Saint Leo University is hosting this event at the Abbey Golf Course and Driving Range in Saint Leo, Florida. The women's 6K race begins at 8:15 a.m., while the men's 8K contest starts at 9 a.m.
