Charlotte, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs wrapped up a perfect opening weekend by taking down Chowan and Lander Saturday afternoon on day two of the Queens Invitational. Wingate defeated the Hawks 3-1 (25-22, 19-25, 25-16, 25-23), then prevailed 3-0 over the Bearcats (25-17, 25-17, 25-21) to improve to 4-0 on the season.

- Kills from Ahrens and Sutphin stretched the advantage to seven at 17-10

- An Ortega kill put the Hawks ahead 16-14

- Wingate answered with a 7-0 run, getting a Lambillotte kill and three Kasprak blocks to take a 20-16 lead
- Two WU attack errors got Lander within one at 21-20
- Schaff and Kasprak answered with kills to make it 23-20
