Bryanna Troutman named AstroTurf SAC Player of the Week for second time this season

Rock Hill, S.C.----Wingate University junior forward Bryanna Troutman has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference women's basketball Player of the Week, league officials announced Monday morning. Troutman earns Player of the Week accolades for the second time this season and second time in her career.

Troutman led the Bulldogs to their 11th straight victory on Sunday, as Wingate moved to 11-1 overall and 9-0 in league play with a 63-61 SAC victory at UVA Wise.

Troutman piled up 21 points and 10 rebounds Sunday to lead the Bulldogs to the win at UVA Wise. She went five-for-five at the free throw line on the day, pulling down six offensive boards and four defensive rebound to notch her third double-double of the season.

Troutman leads the Bulldogs and ranks fourth in the SAC with 17.0 points per game, while ranking fifth in the league in field goal percentage at 52.8 percent on the season. The preseason first team All-SAC honoree ranks ninth in the conference with 7.6 rebounds per game, while leading the league with 84 made field goals on the year. Troutman is second in the league in total points on the season and 10th in blocked shots.

The Bulldogs are in the midst of a four-game SAC road trip, traveling to Tusculum Wednesday for a 2 p.m. tip. Wingate is at Coker the following Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., then wraps up the trip at Anderson Saturday, Jan. 15 at 2 p.m. The Bulldogs finally return home Jan. 19 to host Lenoir-Rhyne at 5:30 p.m.
