Bulldogs go 1-1 on day two of Florida Tech Invitational

Cocoa Beach, Fla.----After dropping the opening game on day two of the Florida Tech Invitational against Barry University, the Wingate University picked up a 5-1 victory over Florida Tech in the afternoon to move to 5-2 on the season.

- Wingate out-hit Florida Tech 9-8
- The Bulldogs had three of the four extra-base hits and the lone homer
- Each team left 11 on base
- The Panthers committed five of the six errors on the day

- An RBI single from Mikayla Lewin in the bottom of the frame cut the lead to three

- Kirchhofer led off the frame with a single
- She scored on Kale's RBI single to make it 5-1

WRAPUP

- Cutcher got the win, moving to 3-0 on the season
- She tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief, striking out one while allowing three hits
- Scott entered the game in the seventh with two on and no outs
- She induced a foulout, flyout and popout to notch her first career save

- Scott took the loss, allowing five runs on just three hits in six innings, striking out eight and walking two
