Balanced Bulldogs hit the century mark to pick up 20th win of the season

Wingate, N.C.----Seven different Bulldogs scored in double figures Saturday afternoon, as Wingate University cruised to a 106-66 victory over UVA Wise in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action in Cuddy Arena. Wingate improves to 20-6 overall and 16-6 in the SAC, while the Cavs fall to 4-22 overall and 3-19 in league play.

- Wingate shot 58 percent from the field; UVA Wise shot 47 percent
- The 'Dogs hit nine-of-23 threes; the Cavs went six-for-18 from deep

FIRST HALF

- Threes from Elmore and Nixon helped Wingate race out to a 12-2 lead three minutes in
- Threes from Nixon and Wilson made it 24-12 at the 13:17 mark
- An Elmore triple and Rashaard Pringle bucket pushed the lead to 16 with 11 minutes left
- A Kervens Yacinth bucket at the 8:28 mark cut the lead to nine
- Taylor's putback with six minutes left made it 42-28
- Nixon buried a three with 47 seconds left to push the advantage back to 16
- Two Isaiah McAmis free throws with a second left made it 51-37

SECOND HALF

- Back-to-back Clark buckets put the 'Dogs on top by 18 less than three minutes in
- Ben Bryson's layup pulled the Cavs within 14 at the 15:25 mark
- Wilson capped a 6-0 run with a dunk to put Wingate on top 74-55
- Grayson Honaker's three cut the lead to 14 with eight minutes left
- Wingate countered with a 22-0 run to put it away
- Nine different Bulldogs scored in the run, capped by an Erik Alvey bucket at the 2:07 mark
- Taylor Bell's layup with 1:47 to go gave the 'Dogs 100 points
- Sasha Letino followed with back-to-back buckets, with Avern Montaque capping the scoring
