Wingate, N.C.----The 18th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs won the doubles point against #13 Columbus State University Friday afternoon, but the Cougars went 4-2 in singles play to prevail 4-3 in NCAA Division II women's tennis action. The CSU improves to 7-4 overall, while the Bulldogs fall to 4-5 on the season.

DOUBLES

- Camilla Ciaccia teamed with Suzuka Sambyakugari for a 7-5 win at one doubles
- Flaminia Guidantoni and Chloe Kosmrlj rolled to a 6-2 win at three doubles against the 34th-ranked doubles team in the nation
- Elena Gunfaus and Saga Berggren dropped a tight 7-6 decision at two doubles
- Wingate took a 1-0 lead into singles play

SINGLES

- Alex Lopez rallied for a 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 win at four singles
- Sambyakugari cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 victory at six singles
- Kosmrlj lost set one 6-4 at two singles, then won 7-5 in set two before falling 6-3 in the third
- The Cougars added wins at one, three and five singles to clinch the victory
