#1 Wingate moves to 16-2 on the year with doubleheader sweep over Anderson

Wingate, N.C.----The top-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs stayed perfect in league play Saturday afternoon, sweeping a doubleheader against Anderson University in South Atlantic Conference baseball action at Ron Christopher Stadium and Plyler Athletic Field. Wingate won by scores of 14-6 and 6-3 to improve to 16-2 overall and 6-0 in the SAC, while the Trojans fall to 13-4 overall and 0-3 in league play.

- Wingate out-hit Anderson 19-10
- Each team had six extra-base hits; the 'Dogs had two of the three homers
- The Bulldogs left nine on base; the Trojans stranded seven

- The Bulldogs blew it open with five runs in the bottom of the seventh
- A Motsinger single and Dansky walk put two on for McNeely
- He crushed a three-run shot to left to put the 'Dogs on top by seven
- Farris followed with a solo shot to make it 13-5
- Christopher followed with a single, then scored on Seaver's RBI double to make it 14-5

WRAPUP

- Broderson got the win, moving to 2-0 on the year
- He allowed a run on just two hits in 5 2/3 innings, striking out eight and walking just one
- The sophomore has two wins and two saves in seven appearances this year, with a 0.98 ERA
- Walker Noland took the loss, allowing seven runs on nine hits in 3 1/3 innings
