Wingate, N.C.----Seaver King blasted a grand slam, while
Mitch Farris turned in another huge night on the mound and at the plate as #2 Wingate University scored the final nine runs of the night to prevail 10-5 over Belmont Abbey in NCAA Division II baseball action at Ron Christopher Stadium. Wingate improves to 34-5 overall, while the Crusaders fall to 25-15 on the year.

- Dansky, Farris and Bryant started the inning with three straight singles to load the bases
- Adams drew a bases-loaded walk to make it a three-run game
- King then connected on a grand slam to left, putting the 'Dogs on top with one swing of the bat
- Williams-Rhem followed with a single, then went to second on Guy's sacrifice
- Motsinger's RBI single put the Bulldogs on top 7-5
SEVENTH INNING
- King ripped a one-out double to right center
- Guy's RBI single plated King to give Wingate a three-run cushion
EIGHTH INNING
- Dansky drew a leadoff walk, then went to third on an error
- He scored on an RBI triple from Farris
- Farris scored on a wild pitch to make it 10-5
WRAPUP
- Farris got the win, moving to 5-1 on the year
- He tossed two shutout innings, allowing two hits while striking out two without a walk
