Sumter, S.C.----The second-seeded and 14th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs opened the 2022 South Atlantic Conference women's tennis tournament by cruising to a 4-0 victory over seventh-seeded Lenoir-Rhyne University in quarterfinal action Thursday afternoon. The regular season co-champs improve to 15-6 overall, while the Bears fall to 15-9 overall.
DOUBLES
- The nation's 13th-ranked doubles duo of
Camilla Ciaccia and
Suzuka Sambyakugari won 6-2 at one doubles

Saga Berggren for a 6-2 victory at three doubles
- Wingate took a 1-0 lead into singles play
SINGLES
- Ciaccia prevailed 7-6, 6-1 at number one singles

Flaminia Guidantoni rolled to a 6-1, 6-3 victory at five singles
- Sambyakugari picked up a 6-2, 6-4 win at six singles

Chloe Kosmrlj won the first set 6-2, then after dropping set two was up 5-0 in the third at two singles
- Gunfaus was ahead 3-2 in the second set after dropping a tight 7-6 opening set at three singles

Alex Lopez bounced back after dropping set one 7-6 at four singles to win the second 6-0
- The two, three and four singles matches were al stopped when WU clinched the win
