Sumter, S.C.----The second-seeded and 14th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs went 4-2 in singles play Friday afternoon, rallying for a 4-3 victory over third-seeded and 14th-ranked Carson-Newman University in the semifinals of the 2022 South Atlantic Conference women's tennis tournament. The 'Dogs win their 11th straight match, improving to 16-6 overall and advancing to Saturday's SAC title match.

DOUBLES

- The Eagles won 6-2 at two doubles and 6-3 at three doubles
- Camilla Ciaccia and Suzuka Sambyakugari were up 5-4 at one doubles when the point was clinched
- Carson-Newman took a 1-0 lead into singles play

SINGLES

- Chloe Kosmrlj won 6-2, 6-3 at two singles to tie the match
- The Eagles took a 2-1 lead with a win at three singles
- Alex Lopez tied it at two with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at four singles
- Sambyakugari put Wingate on top 3-2 with a 6-2, 6-2 win at five singles
- C-N won at one singles to tie the match at three
- Flaminia Guidantoni won the opening set 6-3 at five singles, but dropped set two 6-2
- She lost game one of the third set, but responded by winning the last six to clinch the WU win
