Maness drives in five as ‘Dogs take two at Coker

Hartsville, S.C.----​​Reigning SAC Freshman of the Year Heaven Maness went for five hits including a homer Wednesday afternoon, driving in four runs to lead the Bulldogs to a doubleheader sweep on the road against Coker University in South Atlantic Conference softball action. The Bulldogs improve to 26-15 overall and 8-6 in the SAC, while the Cobras fall to 11-25 and 1-13 in league play.

- Brooks followed with a triple to plate Maness to extend the Bulldog advantage
- Hali Scott drove in Brooks in a pinch-hit situation

- Maness' third hit of the game drove in Lampley and gave Wingate a commanding 8-2 lead
- Chloe Pelham's one-out homer got a run back for the Cobras

- Cutcher got the win, improving to 8-0 on the season
- She allowed two earned runs on seven hits, striking out six in seven innings
- Callie Thornton got the loss for Coker, allowing six earned runs on eight hits, striking out one in four innings of work
