Newberry, S.C.----The sixth-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs recorded the first eight goals of the game and held off the Newberry College Wolves in the second half for a 14-9 road win in South Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse action. The Bulldogs improve to 10-2 overall and 7-1 in the SAC, while Newberry drops to 7-6 overall and 3-4 in league play.

SECOND PERIOD
-Grieco scored at the 7:48 mark to kick off the scoring in the second period
- Grieco and Riley recorded goals within a minute of each other as Wingate opened up a 7-0 lead with four minutes to go in the first half
- Padden's goal made it eight unanswered to start the game for the Bulldogs
- Newberry got on the board at the 1:39 mark in the second period
- Padden found Riley for a late-half score; Wingate enjoyed a 9-1 lead at the break
THIRD PERIOD
- Newberry struck early with a man-up goal from Curtis Bukta to start the third-period scoring
- Natoli returned the Wingate lead to eight with a score with just over nine minutes to go in the period
- The Wolves answered with a goal with five minutes to go
- Riley scored again at the 2:50 mark as Wingate led 11-3
- Mac Ryan's goal brought the Wolves' deficit to seven heading into the final 15 minutes
FOURTH PERIOD
- The Wolves scored three times in the first four minutes of the fourth period to cut their deficit to 11-7
- Riley and Grieco quieted the run with back-to-back scores with over eight minutes to go
- The Wolves answered back with two more goals of their own, as Wingate led 13-9 with under three minutes to go
- Vodovnik's goal with 50 seconds to go iced the 'Dogs win
