Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs are three weeks away from opening the 2022 women's soccer season at Young Harris August 25. Wingate is coming off an 11-6 season in 2021, going 7-4 in SAC play. The 'Dogs went 15-5-2 in the 2019 season, advancing to the NCAA Sweet 16. All home games this season and every SAC contest will be streamed through FloSports. The SAC announced a partnership with FloSports over the summer. Fans can

Wingate opens the 2022 slate Thursday, Aug. 25 at Young Harris at 4 p.m. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams. The Mountain Lions went 4-8 in the 2021 season, with a 2-7 record in the Peach Belt.
The Bulldogs open a five-game home stand Saturday, Aug. 27, hosting Mount Olive at 5 p.m. Wingate is 9-0 all-time against the Trojans, with a 3-0 record at Pride Park, outscoring UMO 37-5 in the all-time series. This will be the first meeting since 2015, when the 'Dogs prevailed 2-1 at Mount Olive. Wingate hosts UNC Pembroke Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 5 p.m. WU is 7-5-2 all-time against UNCP, with the Braves prevailing 1-0 last season in Pembroke.
The 'Dogs continue the home stand Sept. 3 when Barton comes to Pride Park for a 5 p.m. kickoff. Wingate is 7-4 all-time against BC, including a 3-0 season-opening win in Wilson last season, with
Alicia Rubio Garcia collecting a goal and an assist. The Bulldogs open SAC play Wednesday, Sept. 7, hosting Anderson at 5 p.m. Wingate is 15-2 all-time against the trojans, with an 8-0 record at Pride Park. The 'Dogs rolled to a 4-0 win at AU last season and are now outscoring the Trojans 44-9 all-time. Wingate wraps up the home stand Saturday, Sept. 10 when Emory & Henry comes to town for the first-ever meeting between the two teams. The Wasps went 9-3-2 in the 2021 season in their final year as an NCAA Division III school.
The Bulldogs travel to Carson-Newman Sept. 17 for a 5 p.m. kickoff. The Eagles prevailed 1-0 in overtime at Wingate last season, then added a 2-1 victory in the SAC Tournament quarterfinals in Tennessee. The Bulldogs are at Catawba Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 5 p.m. The Indians defeated Wingate 1-0 in Salisbury last season on their way to a regular season SAC title. The 'Dogs wrap up a three-game road trip Sept. 23 at Bluefield State at 6 p.m. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams; Bluefield State went 4-12 in the 2021 season.
The Bulldogs host Newberry Sept. 28 at 5 p.m. Wingate downed the Wolves 3-0 at home last season, getting a goal and an assist from
Caroline Peters. The 'Dogs are 23-6-2 against Newberry, winning eight straight in the series. WU is 11-2-2 against the Wolves at Pride Park.
The Bulldogs hit the road for a two-game road trip starting Saturday, Oct. 1 at Lenoir-Rhyne at 7:30 p.m. Wingate prevailed 1-0 at LR last season. The Bears went on to advance to the NCAA National semifinals before falling to eventual national champion Grand Valley State. The 'Dogs are at Limestone Wednesday, Oct. 5 for a 6 p.m. kickoff. Limestone prevailed 4-3 in Gaffney last season, the first-ever win for the Saints over the Bulldogs. Wingate leads the all-time series 6-1, with a 4-1 record at Limestone.
The 'Dogs return home to host Mars Hill Oct. 8 and Shaw Oct. 12. Wingate rolled to a 3-0 victory over Mars Hill at home last season to move to 18-7-2 all-time against the Lions. WU has won 11 straight in the series. The Bulldogs took down Shaw 1-0 last year in the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
The 'Dogs travel to Lincoln Memorial Saturday, Oct. 15 for a 1 p.m. start. Wingate won 3-2 at LMU last year, moving to 14-5 all-time against the Railsplitters, with a 9-3-1 mark in Harrogate. Wingate's final regular season home contest is Saturday, Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. against Tusculum. The Bulldogs blanked the Pioneers 3-0 at Pride Park last year behind a pair of goals from Rubio Garcia. Wingate is now 13-3-3 all-time against the Pioneers, with an 8-4-1 mark at Pride Park. The regular season wraps up Oct. 26 at Coker at 4:30 p.m. The Bulldogs cruised to a 7-0 victory over the Cobras at home last year, moving to 17-0 in the all-time series. Wingate is 9-0 all-time in Hartsville. The 'Dogs have outscored Coker 74-3 in the all-time series.
The SAC Tournament gets underway Oct. 29, with the higher seeds hosting quarterfinal contests. The SAC Tournament semifinals are slated for Nov. 4, with the championship game taking place Nov. 6. The semifinals and finals will be at the Matthews SportsPlex.
