Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs scored back-to-back goals in the second half, but fell short in their first-ever home game in South Atlantic Conference field hockey action at Graham Gill Field on Saturday to visiting Coker University, 4-3. The Cobras improve to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in South Atlantic Conference play, while the Bulldogs drop to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in league play.

FIRST QUARTER
- Coker's Britt Kabo scored the opening goal just over five minutes in
- Chase Lennon followed up with a second Cobra goal three minutes later
SECOND QUARTER
- Proulx found Aiello who scored Wingate's first goal in program history with just over five minutes remaining in the first half
- Kabo responded just 12 seconds later, as the Cobras took a 3-1 lead into halftime
- The Bulldogs dominated possession in the quarter, out-shooting Coker 8-1 in the period
THIRD QUARTER
- Proulx scored her first-career goal less than six minutes into the second half
FOURTH QUARTER
-Proulx fired the equalizing goal less than 20 seconds into the final quarter, as the 'Dogs stormed back to tie the game at three
- Falon Maddon scored the winner with just under three minutes left in regulation, getting the Kabo assist
