Quotables
Â
Wingate head cross country coach
Pol Domenech: "The women ran a really strong race in such a talented field. They were able to run together for a big part of the race and carry each other forward. Gemma led the pack, but what I am most happy about is how close our 2-3-4-5 were. This is very encouraging for the races to come. We look forward to the next few weeks of training and improving on this result the next time we race."
Â
Wingate sophomore
Gemma Rebollo: "This race has been a great opportunity for the team to put ourselves in a situation similar to the one we will find at nationals where there will be a similar number of people who compete at a high level. Overall the team did really well today, with a majority of people ending up with personal-best times."
Â
"The Paul Short Run has shown us that we are at a great point in terms of training. This race has also taught us where we need to keep improving to reach the best version of ourselves. I'm really proud of the work that this team is putting in and I'm really excited to see what we will be capable of achieving in the upcoming races!"
