Emory, Va.----The Wingate University Bulldogs picked up another league road win, prevailing 80-78 at Emory & Henry in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action Saturday evening. Wingate improves to 12-6 overall and 7-2 in the SAC, while the Wasps fall to 10-8 overall and 2-7 in league play.

- Wingate shot 44 percent from the field; Emory & Henry shot 41 percent
- The 'Dogs hit eight-of-25 threes; the Wasps also went eight-for-25 from deep

- A triple and jumper from Nixon gave Wingate an early 9-2 lead
- A Jake Moynihan three put the Wasps on top 13-11 at the 14:24 mark
- A Cottingham triple and Nixon jumper gave  the 'Dogs a 22-18 lead
- An Elmore three and Greenidge bucket put Wingate on top by 10 with 5:22 to go
- A Jalen Leftwich bucket cut the lead to five with 3:36 remaining
- Threes from Elmore and Nixon gave Wingate a 39-28 advantage
- Massey's  dunk with  56 seconds left pushed the lead to 13; a Malcolm Morgan triple cut the lead to 10

SECOND HALF

- A Cottingham three and Letino three put the 'Dogs on top by 12 with 17:48 to go
- E&H scored the next nine, with a Morgan three making it 49-46 at the 15-minute mark
-  Nixon's triple at the 11:16 mark made it 57-49
- A Gabe Brown three and Moynihan layup put Emory & Henry on top 60-59 with  7:12 to go
- Elmore answered with a triple to put the Bulldogs back on top by two
- Two Greenidge free throws and a Clark layup at the 4:20 mark made it 68-62
- Clark's bucket gave the 'Dogs  an eight-point lead with 3:44 to go
- Letino's bucket with three minutes left gave Wingate a 10-point advantage
- Moynihan's triple cut the lead to six, but two Cottingham free throws made it 76-68
- A Gabe Brown three and two Patrick Antonelli free throws made it 78-76 with 16 seconds left
- Two Nixon free throws with 11 seconds left put the 'Dogs on top by four
