Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs held visiting Columbus State to 25 percent shooting from the field Wednesday night, prevailing 59-46 in NCAA Division II women's basketball action in Cuddy Arena. Wingate improves to 5-2 overall, while the Cougars fall to 2-3 on the season.

SECOND QUARTER

- Clark's layup two minutes in stretched the Wingate lead to six
- The 'Dogs used a 7-0 run, starting with a three and a layup from Clark to take a 27-16 lead
- A Simone Lett bucket trimmed the lead to seven at the 4:19 mark
- Reeves buried a three to make it 29-23 heading to halftime

THIRD QUARTER

- A Lett layup in the opening minute pulled the Cougars within four
- The 'Dogs scored the next nine, with five points coming from Hege to go on top 38-25
- Two free throws from Rudenko cut the lead to six at the 1:45 mark
