Wingate, N.C.----The 12th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs had three different players drive in three runs each Friday night, cruising to a 14-6 victory over the University of Charleston in NCAA Division II baseball action at Ron Christopher Stadium. Wingate improves to 4-2 overall, while the Golden Eagles fall to 0-2 on the season.

FIFTH INNING

- An RBI single from Andre Martinez pulled the Golden Eagles back within a run
- The Bulldogs answered with five runs in the bottom of the frame
- A Haggerty single and Dansky walk put two on for King
- His two-run triple to right center made it 5-2
- Barnett plated King with an RBI single to push the lead to four
- McKay's two-run single capped the scoring in the frame, to give WU an 8-2 lead

SIXTH INNING

- A Giano Zuccaro three-run homer made it 8-5

SEVENTH INNING

- Klaserner drew a bases-loaded walk to make it a two-run game
- The Bulldogs scored four in the bottom of the inning to push the lead back to six
- Adams plated Clark with an RBI double to start the scoring
- McKay's RBI single drove home Adams to make it 10-6
- Simpson followed with a two-run shot to right to put the 'Dogs on top by six

EIGHTH INNING

- Wingate added two more runs in the eighth
- Dansky was hit by a pitch to start the frame, while King followed with a single
- They both scored on a two-run single from Adams to make it 14-6

WRAPUP

- Farris got the win, moving to 2-0 on the season
- He allowed three runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings, striking out 10 without a walk
- The preseason first team All-American now has 20 strikeouts and one walk in 10 1/3 innings this year
- His streak of consecutive scoreless innings was snapped at 38 frames
- Avant went the final 2 2/3 innings, striking out six without allowing a hit to earn the save
