‘Dogs win on eighth-inning walk-off to go 1-1 on day two of Panther Invitational

Longwood, Fla.----For the second straight day, the Wingate University Bulldogs bounced back after dropping the first game of the day at the Panther Invitational, taking down Rollins 4-3 in eight innings after falling 9-0 against Tampa. Wingate moves to 4-2 on the season.

- The Spartans had all five extra-base hits including the lone homer
- Tampa had all three stolen bases
- The Spartans left seven on base; the 'Dogs stranded one

KEY BULLDOGS

- Hannah Reeves had the lone hit of the contest for Wingate

- The Spartans scored eight times in the fifth

- A sacrifice fly from Brie Michelli cut the Wingate lead in half

- A sacrifice fly from Ashley Worrell tied it at two

EIGHTH INNING

- An RBI single from Grace Germer gave Rollins a 3-2 lead in the top of the eighth
- Wingate had the answer in the bottom of the inning
- Kale was place on second to start the frame, while Reeves drew a walk
- A Maness single loaded the bases
- Liles drove home the tying and winning run when she reached on an error to end it

WRAPUP

- Scott got the win, moving to 1-1 on the year
- She allowed an unearned run on one hit in two innings, striking out two
- Emily MacMullen took the loss, allowing four runs on four hits in 7 1/3 innings, striking out six
