Wingate drops two on final day of Panther Invitational

Longwood, Fla.----The Wingate University Bulldogs dropped both contests on the final day of the Panther Invitational. Florida Tech defeated Wingate 2-0 to start the day, while Rollins prevailed 6-3 over the 'Dogs in their final game of the weekend. The Bulldogs move to 4-4 on the season.

- The Bulldogs pulled within one with a pair of runs in the third
- Reeves drew a two-out walk, then moved to second on a Maness single
- Both scored on a two-run single from Brooks to make it 4-3

FOURTH INNING

- Lebeda drew a bases-loaded walk to push the Florida Tech lead back to two

SIXTH INNING

- Claire Long scored on a double steal to give the Panthers a 6-3 advantage

WRAPUP

- Ashley Worrell got the win, allowing three runs on four hits in seven innings, striking out 12 and walking six
- Jillian Thomas took the loss, allowing three runs on three hits in 1 1/3 innings, striking out one and walking one
