Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs plated 19 runs Wednesday afternoon, sweeping a doubleheader against the University of Mount Olive in NCAA Division II softball action. Wingate improves to 6-4 overall and 4-0 at home, outscoring opponents 37-9 at the WU Softball Complex. The Trojans fall to 3-3 on the season.

- A Kylie Emanuele two-run homer got Mount Olive on the board first
SECOND INNING
- Wingate scored twice in the bottom of the frame to tie it
- Liles led off the frame with a solo shot to left center
- Kirchhofer added a two-out double, then scored on Hobgood's RBI double to tie it
THIRD INNING
- The 'Dogs scored six in the third to take an 8-2 lead
- A Kale walk and Brooks double put runners on second and third
- An RBI single from Liles put the Bulldogs on top
- Kramer and Kahlich followed with RBI single to make it 5-2
- Kirchhofer's sacrifice fly pushed the lead to four
- Hobgood followed with an RBI double
- She stole third, then scored on an error to make it 8-2
FOURTH INNING
- A two-run homer from Cana Shrock cut the lead to four
- Wingate put up another six spot in the bottom of the frame
- A Kale double and Reeves single started the inning
- A Brooks RBI single plated Kale
- Liles drove in two more runs while reaching on an error to make it 11-4
- Kramer's RBI single plated Liles
- Kirchhofer's RBI triple drove home Kramer; Hobgood's RBI groundout made it 14-4
WRAPUP
- Cutcher got the win, moving to 2-1 on the year
- She tossed a scoreless inning, allowing just one hit
- Hannah Killough took the loss, falling to 2-1, allowing nine runs on nine hits in three innings

- Liles plated a pair of runs with a two-run single to make it 5-3
WRAPUP
- Kale got the win, moving to 3-0
- She did not allow a hit in 3 1/3 innings, striking out six without a walk
- Lauren King took the loss, allowing five runs on five hits in five innings, striking out two and walking three
