Belmont, N.C.----The Belmont Abbey College Crusaders remained perfect on the season Tuesday evening, prevailing 9-8 against #12 Wingate University in NCAA Division II baseball action. Belmont Abbey moves to 9-0 on the year, while the Bulldogs fall to 4-3 overall.

- A Wingate error allowed two more runs to score to give the Crusaders the lead

- BAC regained the lead in the bottom of the frame on Patrick Taylor's RBI double

- Joe A Whitaker RBI single and Humphrey sacrifice fly made it 8-5

SEVENTH INNING

- A Simpson single, followed by a pair of walks loaded the bases for Wingate
- Motsinger reached on an error, allowing two runs to score to make it 8-7
- Browder's RBI double in the bottom of the frame pushed the lead back to two

NINTH INNING

- Barnett led off the ninth with a solo homer to make it 9-8
- The 'Dogs got two more on base in the frame, but a groundout ended it

WRAPUP

- Drew Stegura got the win, tossing 1 2/3 shutout innings
- Ethan Wilson got the save, allowing a run on a hit while striking out two
- Collin McDougall took the loss, allowing one earned run on three hits in 1 1/3 innings, striking out two
