Wingate, N.C.----The reigning SAC Freshman of the Year Florian Walcher picked up wins at number one singles and number one doubles Thursday afternoon in Wingate's 5-2 setback against NCAA Division I foe Gardner-Webb. The Bulldogs start the season 0-1 overall.

DOUBLES

- Walcher teamed with Luka Brown for a 6-3 win at one doubles
- Edis Nokic and Gabriel Constantino dropped a tough 7-6 decision at two doubles
- Gardner-Webb took a 1-0 lead with a 6-4 victory at three doubles to claim the point

SINGLES

- Walcher prevailed 1-6, 6-2, 7-6 at number one singles
- Hugo Nossler picked up a 6-3, 1-6, 6-1 victory at five singles
- Nokic dropped a tight three-set match at number three singles
- Carlo Rosselini also dropped a hard-fought three-set match at six singles
