Greeneville, Tenn.----The Tusculum University Pioneers got a pair of free throws in the final seconds Wednesday night, prevailing 73-71 over visiting Wingate University in the quarterfinals of the South Atlantic Conference men's basketball tournament. The Pioneers improve to 16-10 overall, while the Bulldogs fall to 15-13 on the season.

- Justin Mitchell put the Pioneers on top 44-39 with 14:27 remaining
- Wingate scored the next nine, taking a 48-44 lead on Wilson's triple with 11:55 to go
- Jordan's bucket cut the lead back to one, but two more Wilson threes made it 56-49 at the 7:46 mark
- James West buried a three to pull TU within two, but Wilson answered with another triple with six minutes left
