Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs opened league play in impressive fashion Wednesday afternoon, sweeping a doubleheader against Newberry College in South Atlantic Conference softball action. Wingate won the opener 6-1, while rolling to a 10-1 victory in game two to improve to 18-5 overall and 2-0 in the SAC. The 'Dogs are 10-0 at home and have won 14 of their last 15 games overall. Newberry falls to 12-7 overall and 2-2 in league play.
