#18 Wingate splits SAC doubleheader at Anderson

Anderson, S.C.----The 18th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs split a doubleheader at Anderson University Saturday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference softball action. The Trojans won the opener 5-0, while the Bulldogs prevailed 6-3 in game two. Wingate moves to 27-9 overall and 9-3 in the SAC, while the Trojans go to 20-10 overall and 6-6 in league play.

- A walk and Ragan Liles single started the inning
- Lampley's two-run double made it 5-0
- Neadow's solo homer in the bottom of the frame got Anderson on the board

SIXTH INNING

- A two-run double from Hobbs cut the Wingate lead to two

SEVENTH INNING

- Kramer blasted a solo shot to left center to give the 'Dogs a 6-3 lead
- The Trojans got the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the inning, but Cuthcher struck out Boatner to end it

WRAPUP

- Cutcher got the win, moving to 8-3 on the year
- She allowed three runs on six hits in seven innings, striking out eight and walking two
- Lane Edgington took the loss, allowing five runs on nine hits in 3 2/3 innings
