Catawba rallies for 6-3 victory at Wingate in series opener

Wingate, N.C.----The Catawba College Indians scored six runs in the final two innings Friday night, rallying for a 6-3 victory at Wingate University in South Atlantic Conference baseball action at Ron Christopher Stadium. Catawba improves to 19-11 overall and 9-1 in the SAC, while the Bulldogs fall to 18-11 overall and 8-5 in league play.

- Back-to-back bases-loaded walks gave Catawba the 4-3 lead
- A passed ball and wild pitch allowed two more runs to score to push the lead to three
- Singles from Motsinger and Cam Harris, along with a walk loaded the bases
- Catawba reliever Joseph Webb got the strikeout to end the game

- Austin Fine got the win, moving to 6-0 on the year
- He allowed three runs on eight hits in eight innings, striking out eight and walking two
- Webb got the save, striking out two in his inning of work
- Jordan Howard took the loss, allowing two runs on a hit while walking one
