#19 Wingate plates 26 runs to move to 6-0 in SAC play

Wingate, N.C.----The 19th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs are the only SAC team without a conference loss, rolling to a pair of victories over Coker University in South Atlantic Conference softball action. Wingate won the opener 5-1, while prevailing 21-4 in game two to move to 22-5 overall and 6-0 in the SAC. The Cobras fall to 13-11 overall and 1-5 in league play. The Bulldogs have now won eight straight and 18 of their last 19 overall. Wingate is 12-0 at home this season, outscoring opponents 132-19

- Hall followed with a solo blast to left center to push the lead to five

- Kale got the win, moving to 7-1 on the year
- She allowed two hits in 3 2/3 shutout frames, striking out four without a walk

- The 'Dogs scored nine times in the second inning
- Kahlich started the scoring with an RBI double
- Stevens followed with an RBI single, while Hall's RBI double made it 8-0
- Brooks then blasted a grand slam to right center to put the 'Dogs on top by 12
- Reeves added a two-run single to center to make it 14-0

THIRD INNING

- Hall led off the bottom of the frame with a solo shot to right
- Lampley's RBI single plated Brooks after her double to make it 16-1
- Kahlich drew a bases-loaded walk to drive home Lampley
- Stevens lined a two-run double to left, while an error allowed the 20th run of the game to score
- Stevens scored on a passed ball to make it 21-1

WRAPUP

- Horodecki got the win, moving to 2-1
- She allowed two runs on four hits in two innings of work
- Tibby Hessian took the loss, allowing 10 runs on eight hits in 1 1/3 innings
