Newberry, S.C.----Wingate University All-American left-hander
Mitch Farris turned in yet another dominant performance Friday night, tossing a complete-game two-hit shutout to lead the Bulldogs to a 5-0 victory at #5 Newberry College in South Atlantic Conference baseball action. Wingate improves to 25-14 overall and 14-5 in the SAC, while the Wolves fall to 32-7 overall and 15-3 in league play.

SECOND INNING
- Motsinger reached on a two-out single, then moved to second on a Rhodes walk
- King's RBI single got the Bulldogs on the board
- Dansky followed with a two-run triple to left center to make it 3-0
FIFTH INNING
- Adams led off the inning with a double
- He scored on an RBI single from Clark to give the 'Dogs a four-run cushion
SIXTH INNING
- Rhodes ripped a two-out double down the right field line
- He scored on King's RBI single to make it 5-0
WRAPUP
- Farris got the win, moving to 9-1 on the year and 9-0 in his 10 starts
- He allowed just a pair of singles in the ninth inning, striking out 10 without a walk
- After retiring the first eight hitters of the game, the Wolves got a base runner via a two-out error in the third
- Farris retired the side in order in the fourth before hitting a batter with one out in the fifth
- He followed by retiring the next 11 batters before allowing a leadoff single in the ninth
- The Wolves had runners on the corners with one out in the ninth, but Farris got a strikeout and groundout to end it
- Farris has now struck out at least nine in all 10 starts this year, hitting double figures nine times
- He has gone at least seven innings in each of his last seven starts, tossing complete games at #7 LR and #5 Newberry
- The nation's leader in strikeouts lowers his SAC-best ERA to 1.25 on the year
