Bulldogs roll past UVA Wise in series opener

Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs got three-run homers from Michael Dansky and Seaver King Friday night, rolling to an 8-2 victory over UVA Wise in South Atlantic Conference baseball action at Ron Christopher Stadium. The Bulldogs improve to 27-16 overall and 16-6 in the SAC, while the Cavaliers fall to 15-31 overall and 4-18 in league play.

- Wingate out-hit UVA Wise 10-4
- The Bulldogs had six of the nine extra-base hits and all three homers
- The 'Dogs left eight on base; the Cavs stranded two

- King's three-run shot made it 7-0

- King lined a one-out triple to right
- He scored on Dansky's RBI groundout to make it 8-1

WRAPUP

- Farris got the win, moving to 10-1 on the year
- He allowed two runs on four hits in eight innings, striking out nine without a walk
- Clayton Lanser took the loss, allowing seven runs on seven hits in four innings
