Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs won the first two sets against Carson-Newman University Friday night in South Atlantic Conference volleyball action in Cuddy Arena, but the Eagles battled back to force a fifth set which the 'Dogs claimed 15-7 en route to a 3-2 victory. Wingate prevailed 25-15, 25-16, 25-27, 22-25 and 15-7 to improve to 14-2 overall and 5-1 in the SAC. The Eagles fall to 11-5 overall and 7-2 in league play. Wingate has now had five matches go five sets this year, going 3-2 in those contests, with a 2-0 mark in Cuddy Arena.
