‘Dogs force seven turnovers, notch second straight shutout in 50-0 win against Barton

Wingate, N.C.----For the second straight week, the Wingate University defense kept the opposition off the scoreboard, forcing seven turnovers en route to a dominant 50-0 victory against Barton College in South Atlantic Conference football action at Irwin Belk Stadium. Wingate moves to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in the SAC, while Barton falls to 2-4 overall and 1-3 in league play. Second time in program history the Bulldogs have had back-to-back shutouts and first time since the 2015 season. Wingate has outscored opponents 83-0 the last two weeks.

- Wingate had 189 rushing yards and 156 passing yards for 345 yards of offense
- Barton had 81 passing yards and eight rushing yards, going for 89 total yards

- A Reddish 15-yard return set the 'Dogs up at their own 38
- Ratcliff had three straight four-yard runs, while Bell hit Trey Hedderly for 10 yards to get it to the BC 25
- Pugh scored from five yards out to make it 50-0

FOURTH QUARTER

- Barton moved the ball into WU territory late in the fourth quarter
- Colter forced a fumble in the backfield, which Jasiah Hill recovered at the WU 30
- The 'Dogs were able to run the clock out to complete their second straight shutout
