#23 Wingate claims 18th outright SAC title in last 19 years with sweep at Coker

Hartsville, S.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs made quick work of Coker University Tuesday night, cruising to a 3-0 victory in South Atlantic Conference volleyball action. Wingate won by scores of 25-14, 25-18 and 25-18 to improve to 24-2 overall and 16-1 in the SAC, while the Cobras fall to 5-17 overall and 4-12 in league play. The Bulldogs have now won 16 straight matches, while winning 31 of their last 32 sets. The victory gives Wingate its 18th outright regular season SAC title in the last 19 seasons. The Bulldogs are now 316-20 in league play over the last 19 seasons, adding 12 SAC Tournament titles during the stretch.

- Wingate had 55 kills and 10 errors in 105 attacks, hitting .429
- Coker had 36 kills and 14 errors in 116 swings to hit .190

- Morland, Johnson and Stacherski each had a kill in a 3-0 spurt to make it 12-4
- A Taylor Hills kill cut the lead to four at 14-10
- Johnson answered with a kill and an ace to stretch the lead to six
- The Bulldogs ended the set by scoring the final seven points of the frame
- Morland started the flurry with a kill, while three Johnson kills made it 24-14
- A Hoffman ace ended the set

SET TWO

- Kills from Johnson, Saye, Van Heyst and Abby Mas put the 'Dogs on top 7-3
- Two Stacherski kills sparked a 5-0 run to make it 15-6
- Three straight Johnson kills gave the Bulldogs an 18-9 advantage
- Kills from Van Heyst and Stacherski made it 22-13; a Johnson kill made it 24-15
- Saye's kill ended the frame

- Kills from Morland and Grace Woodring gave Wingate a 5-3 advantage
- A Cayla Gilmore put the Cobras on top 6-5
- Kills from Lamphere and Morland, followed by two Van Heyst kills gave WU a 10-8 lead
