Florence, S.C.----The Francis Marion University Patriots picked up a 2-0 victory in game one of an NCAA Division II softball doubleheader Wednesday afternoon to snap #14 Wingate University's 10-game winning streak. The Bulldogs bounced back to take game two 2-1, moving to 13-4 overall. Francis Marion moves to 10-3 on the season.

- Liles led off the frame by lining a ball off the tip of the glove of the leaping FMU shortstop to bring the tying run to the plate
- A groundout, popout and flyout ended the threat

WRAPUP

- Alyssa Poston got the win, moving to 5-0 on the year
- She tossed seven shutout frames, striking out five without a walk
- Scott took the loss, allowing two runs on four hits in six innings, striking out five and walking one

- Stevens led off the frame with a single, then moved to second on a Lily Huneycutt sacrifice

- A Wingate error in the bottom of the frame allowed Francis Marion to tie it at one

- Kale started the frame with a single, then moved to second on a Stevens single
- Heaven Maness was hit by a pitch to load the bases
- Kramer drew a bases-loaded walk to give Wingate a 2-1 advantage

- Jenna Walling took the loss, allowing two runs on six hits in 4 2/3 innings, striking out three and walking four
