#14 Wingate splits doubleheader at Francis Marion

Florence, S.C.----The Francis Marion University Patriots picked up a 2-0 victory in game one of an NCAA Division II softball doubleheader Wednesday afternoon to snap #14 Wingate University's 10-game winning streak. The Bulldogs bounced back to take game two 2-1, moving to 13-4 overall. Francis Marion moves to 10-3 on the season.

- The Patriots had both extra-base hits including the lone homer
- FMU committed both errors
- The Patriots left four on base; the 'Dogs stranded three

- Liles led off the frame by lining a ball off the tip of the glove of the leaping FMU shortstop to bring the tying run to the plate
- A groundout, popout and flyout ended the threat

- Alyssa Poston got the win, moving to 5-0 on the year
- She tossed seven shutout frames, striking out five without a walk
- Scott took the loss, allowing two runs on four hits in six innings, striking out five and walking one
