Beale’s second triple-double of the season highlights Wingate’s 88-62 win over Anderson

Wingate, N.C.----Wingate University sophomore guard Laney Beale piled up 10 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists Saturday afternoon, notching her second triple-double of the season to lead the Bulldogs to an 88-62 victory over Anderson University in South Atlantic Conference women's basketball action in Cuddy Arena. Wingate has won four straight and seven of its last eight, moving to 18-8 overall and 13-5 in the SAC. The Trojans fall to 19-7 overall and 11-7 in league play.

- Anderson shot 32 percent from the field, connecting on six-of-13 from deep (46 percent)

- A Brittney Stafford tripe gave Anderson a 10-2 lead 1:20 into the contest
- A Clark three and Hege layup cut the lead to one at 12-11 with 6:13 to go
- An Ashlyn Sheridan triple pushed the Trojan lead back to four
- An Anna Baraldi layup and two Clark free throws tied it at 17 with 3:09 remaining
- Baraldi's bucket gave the 'Dogs a 19-17 advantage
- A pair of Hege free throws with 1:13 to go gave Wingate a 21-19 lead

SECOND QUARTER

- Buckets from Breedlove and Clark pushed the lead to six in the opening 90 seconds
- Stafford's jumper at the 6:31 mark pulled Anderson back within three at 27-24
- Layups from Clark and Hege stretched the lead to seven with five minutes left
- Hege buried a triple at the 3:20 mark to make it 38-28
- Another Hege three, along with a Lia Anderson layup put the 'Dogs on top by 15
- Martyna Radzicka knocked down a triple with 23 seconds left to make it 45-35 at halftime

THIRD QUARTER

- Breedlove knocked down a pair of jumpers in the opening minute to make it 49-35
- A Hege triple at the 4:31 mark made it 56-39
- Two more Breedlove buckets stretched the advantage to 19 with 1:36 to go
- A Breedlove layup with 19 seconds left made it 62-43

FOURTH QUARTER

- Breedlove knocked down another jumper in the opening seconds to push the lead to 21
- Two Hege triples and a Beale jumper put the 'Dogs on top 74-49
- A Breedlove layup and Clark three-point play extended the advantage to 31
- Beale knocked down a jumper in the paint with 30 seconds left to complete her triple-double
