Bulldogs fall to Lander to close out weekend

Wingate, N.C.----The Lander University Bearcats prevailed 12-1 at Wingate University in NCAA Division II baseball action Sunday afternoon at Ron Christopher Stadium and Plyler Athletic Field. The Bearcats improve to 11-4 overall, while the Bulldogs fall to 10-5 on the season.

- Lander out-hit Wingate 16-5
- The Bearcats had seven of the nine extra-base hits and two of the three homers
- The 'Dogs left eight on base; Lander stranded seven
- Wingate had all three errors in the contest

- Sean Barnett homered for the Bulldogs

- Bennet Nance got the win, allowing a run on four hits in 6 1/3 innings, striking out seven and walking one
- Carson Morton took the loss, allowing two earned runs on five hits in three innings, striking out two
