#15 Wingate cruises to 16-4 victory over Lenoir-Rhyne for 19th straight SAC win

Wingate, N.C.----The 15th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs scored the first seven goals Sunday afternoon and never looked back, rolling to a 16-4 victory over Lenoir-Rhyne University in South Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse action at Irwin Belk Stadium. The Bulldogs improve to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the SAC, while the Bears fall to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in league play.

FIRST QUARTER

- The 'Dogs jumped out to a 7-0 lead 11 minutes in
- Knowles got it started three minutes in, scoring off a Blakely assist
- Wilgeroth scored off a Watson assist at the 10:32 mark to make it 2-0
- Diedrich scored a minute later to push the lead to three
- Knowles struck twice in a two-minute span off assists from Wilgeroth and Watson to make it 5-0
- Diedrich scored off Blakely's assist with 4:57 to go to push the advantage to six
- Knowles scored off a Watson assist 19 seconds later to make it 7-0
- Kirra Olson got the Bears on the board with 16 seconds left in the frame

SECOND QUARTER

- Diedrich scored off Wilgeroth's assist at the 6:15 mark to push the lead back to seven
- Ellie Campbell's goal with 2:20 remaining cut the lead back to six
- Magill's first career goal came off a Blakely assist, giving Wingate a 9-2 halftime lead

THIRD QUARTER

- Knowles scored off a Blakely assist two minutes in to put the 'Dogs in double figures
- Alexa Burkhardt answered with a goal to make it 10-3 at the midway point of the frame
- Diedrich responded with a goal 43 seconds later off a Wilgeroth assist
- Scarfogliero scored off a Knowles assist with 2:16 remaining to make it 12-3
- Millard's goal a minute later gave the 'Dogs a 10-goal lead

FOURTH QUARTER

- Millard scored again at the 12:36 mark to make it 14-3
- Her goal with 8:38 remaining gave the Bulldogs a 15-4 advantage
- Scarfogliero capped the scoring on the day at the 1:33 mark off a Blakely assist
